But one thing everyone can agree on is that Ryan Reynolds is truly the spark that keeps Detective Pikachu going. His childlike Deadpool-esque wit brings genuine humor and heart to the film. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that Pikachu is just so damn adorable to look at.
Final Thoughts: If you didn’t grow up making the hard decision between Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle, then you probably won’t enjoy Detective Pikachu as much as the fans. Otherwise, the film is a goofy and entertaining ride that’s fun for the whole family.
