Our 42 year journey with the Skywalker family has led to this very moment. The end of the saga.
*WARNING: minor spoilers ahead*
The Star Wars saga has meant a tremendous amount to me throughout the years, so my expectations for this final act were very high.
How did the finale go?
Well. It was a hell of a good time but, Rise of Skywalker is far from perfect.
It isn’t as bold as The Last Jedi nor as formulaic as The Force Awakens. However, Rise of Skywalker isn’t imaginative and fell into very predictable.
The pacing was really rushed at the beginning and I felt like many different plot lines were shoved into a 2.5 hour movie.
But as a fan, I was pleased.
Rise of Skywalker is pure fan service in the best way. And because of that it felt like a satisfying finale.
I got all the answers I wanted. I had moments of joyous nostalgia. And a chance to fan girl HARD.
I also have a new favorite light saber duel so that’s huge bonus.
And on another positive note, we receive tremendous performances by Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver. The two are undeniably committed to their roles and I commend them for being the driving force of this trilogy.
It’s sad to see a beloved saga come to an end but I feel that Rise of Skywalker was the closure I needed as a fan.
And don’t ever forget, at the end of the day, the galaxy was saved by a woman. 💁🏼♀️
Final Thoughts: Rise of Skywalker is enjoyable fan service that everyone will enjoy.
