Cue the music. Grab some popcorn and buckle up. Get ready because Tom Cruise has done it again.
“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.”follows Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team as they embark on a deadly race around the world to track down a terrifying weapon before it falls into the wrong hands.
Unlike many other action franchises, “Mission: Impossible” keeps getting better as the stakes become even higher.
And “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One” delivers on everything you adore about the franchise. Running at almost three hours, we are immersed in a gripping mission bursting with pulse-pounding action and death-defying stunts that will leave your palms sweaty and your heart racing — especially if you see this in Dolby where your seats are shaking along with the runaway train.
Although the IMF team is always a joy to watch on screen, I enjoyed the additions of Hayley Atwell (I love to see Peggy Carter kicking ass) and a very enigmatic Pom Klementieff.
I will nitpick and say that the pacing is a little jumbled in between the action sequences. However, nothing will make you complain when you see Tom Cruise riding a motorcycle off a cliff like Evil Knievel stabbed with an adrenaline needle.
And say what you want, but no one is more committed to creating pure movie making magic than Tom Cruise.
And let’s face it, like him or not, he has brought the “movie going experience” back to the big screen — something everyonethought was impossible post-pandemic.
But I guess Tom Cruise always does the impossible, and no one is doing it better right now.
Go see this on the biggest screen possible before “Oppenheimer” infiltrates all the Dolby theaters.
