So many aliens. So little words. That’s what you can expect from Hulu’s newest original film, “No One Will Save You”.
The film follows a young woman (Kaitlyn Dever), exiled by her community, who comes face to face with extraterrestrial beings invading her home.
Director Brian Duffield, takes viewers on a captivating and fast-paced sci-fi journey, filled with intrigue, psychological thrills, alien action and dancing.
Yes. I said dancing.
Although the plot is reminiscent of “The Twilight Zone” but with more emotional baggage, it is nevertheless a weird and entertaining watch with an impactful ending including a fourth wall break. Which you should all know, I am a sucker for.
But what is so interesting about “No One Will Save You” is that there is probably about four lines of simple dialogue throughout its 93 minute runtime.
But Dever doesn’t need lines to blow you away with her committed performance. She can tear through monologues of emotion, trauma, fear, guilt and strength with only her eyes. She is remarkable.
Devers never fails and this is without a doubt HER film from start to finish. I genuinely don’t think “No One Will Save You” would be as captivating if it wasn’t for her skilled performance.
Sure. Overall the film may be the yassification of “Signs” but “No One Will Save You” is worth the watch for Devers emotional performance alone.
